Martin Luther King Jr.
(2014) Martin Luther king jr. was born on Jan. 15 1929 in Atlanta Georgia, He lived at a time when black people didn't have any rights. He did not agree with the unfair treatments of blacks. He was very smart and became a minister of a babtist church in Alabama. In 1963 Martin Lither King and other leaders lead a march into Washinton D.C. There were over 200,000 people marching. This was where Dr. King gave his "I have a dream" speach. In 1964 he received the nobel peace prize in Norway, and gave the money to the civil rights groups. On Apr. 4 1968 Martin Luther king was murdered in Memphis Tennessee. He was 39 when he died.
George Washington
(2015) George Washington was a very important person in our country. Here are a few facts that made him so great. George Washington was the first president of the United States. He also asked Betsy Ross if she would make the American flag. Washington DC was named after George Washington but he never lived there. Those are a few reason why George Washington was so important to our country.

Helen Keller
(2015) Helen Keller was an American author, political activist, and a lecturer. She was the first deaf blind person to earn a bachelor of arts degree. Helen Adams Keller was born June 27, 1880 and died June 1, 1968. Helen Keller was born in West Tuscumbia, Alabama. Helen Keller was a memer of the Socilalist party. Helen Keller campaigned for women's suffrage, labor inducted into the Alabama women's Hall of Fame in 1971. In 1902 Helen Keller became the first deaf blind person to write a book. Her autobiography, The Story of My Life, was the first of 14 books she wrote in her life time.
Abraham Lincoln
(2016) Did you know Abe Lincoln was a civil war leader??? Abe Lincoln was very interesting president. He was born in a log cabin in 1809. He was 6 foot 4 inches tall when he was only 13!!! He became president in the year 1861. He made a speech called the GETTYSBURG ADDRESS. The speech was to stop slavery. Next came the Civil War. It was between the north and the south. After little bit it was over and the north had won!!! He went to a theater with his wife. He heard a BANG!!! He had been shot by John Wilkes Booth. Harriet Tubman
(2015) Harriet Tubman was a very important hero. She led other slaves to freedom. Tubman used the Underground Railroad to help the slaves escape from the South to the North. In the North, they would be free. It was risky for Tubman because she could have gotten caught. Tubman thought about herself last. Everyone should remember Harriet Tubman.
Eli Whitney
(2014) Eli Whitney was born in Westborough, Massachusetts on Decembe 8, 1765. When he was 23 years old he decided to go to collage. He graduated from Yale Collage when he was 27. He wanted to be a lawyer but he didn't want to stay in school longer. on a trip to a plantation he learned how hard it was to get seeds out of cotten so he invented the cotten gin. The cotten gin took seeds out of cotten ten times faster than a person. These years cotten gins work much faster than they used to when Eli Whintey was alive.
Jackie Robinson
(2016) Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier. He was important in history because he fought for African Americans to play major league sports. He Was born January 31, 1919. He grew up in Georgia and then moved to California With his mom. He was the best in baseball, football, track, and basketball in high school and college. After he played college football for the Honolulu Bears, he fought in World War II. When he left the army he wanted to Play major league baseball but they didn't allow African Americans to play. He played for a negro league. In 1945 Branch Rickey, from the Brooklyn Dodgers, Wanted him to play for them. It would be hard to be the first African American player. In 1947 African Americans could Play even though other teams voted not to let him play. By 1949 Jackie became M.V.P and other African Americans joined and became Stars in the league. Jackie stopped Playing and in 1962 was in the baseball Hall of Fame. Until he died in 1972 he spoke up for fairness. Today Players of all colors are in major league sports because of Jackie Robinson. He is a Hero.
Frederick Douglass
(2014) Frederick Douglass was born a slave in Maryland. His birth name was Frederick Augustus Washington Bailey, but he later changed his name to Frederick Douglass. Frederick Douglass was born a slave. He only saw his mother fore or five time, before she dided when he was abot seven. He was a slave for abot twenty years. He started a school to teach the other slaves how to read and write. He had grate friends that helped him by his freedom. Once he was free he began to publis an abolitionist newspaper called The North Star. On January 1, 1863 his dream was realized when the new law came out saying people could no langer own slaves.
Betsy Ross
(2016) Besty Ross was a American pirat When Besty was young, she learn how to sew, read and write. Besty Ross was born on January 1, 1752. Besty died on 1836. On June 1776, George Washington visted Besty Ross. He asked to sew a glad with 13 strips and 13 stars.
Alexander Graham Bell
(2016) Alexander Graham Bell was a famous inventor. He was born in 1847. He started inventing things because he wanted to help deaf people. His mom was deaf and his dad helped deaf people to speak clearly. He wanted to help deaf people when he grew up. He started a school in Boston in 1872. He made the school to help teach people how to teach deaf people. He started to think about sounds and how they are made. That's how he thought to make the phone. He also made other things like flying machines and solar power. Now you know why he was a famous inventor.
Clara Barton
(2016) Clara Started the Red Cross. She was born on Christmas Day in 1821. She helped her brother when he was sick. She helped soldiers in the civil war. Clara became the President of the American Red Cross for 23 years! The Red Cross is important because it helps people.
Laura Ingalls Wilder
(2014) Laura Ingalls Wilder was born on February 7, 1867 in Wisconsin. Later, Laura and her husband, Almazo Wilder, made their own covered wagon with their daughter, Rose, to Mansfield, Missouri. Laura and her family traveled by covered wagon across the Midwest. Laura wrote about her childhood growing up on the American Frontier. Her first book was called The Little House in the Big Woods. Laura died February 10, 1957, which was three days after her birthday.
Davy Crockett
(2014) Here is some facts about David Crockett. He was born in 1786 in Tennessee. He ran away from home when he was 13 and lived on his own in the woods in 1799. He was an American frontiersman, bear hunter, sharp shooter, soldier, legislator, and folk hero. He was famous for wearing a coon-skin hat. He was a good storteller. He and 200 other Texan volunteers died March 6, 1836, during the battle of the Alamo. David Crockett was an American hero.
Cynthia Rylant
(2014) Cynthia Rylant writes a lot of stories for people. She grew up in West Virginia. She did not read childrens books until she was 23. Her first book took 1 hour to write and she won an award for the book. Cynthia Rylant writes the books called Hennry and Mudge.
Amelia Earhart
(2015) Amelia Earhart was the first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean alone. She was born July 24, 1897 in her grandparent's house in Atchison, Kansas. On July 2, 1937 her plane disappeared near Howland Island, when she was trying to fly around the world. Amelia Earhart started a club called the 99's for women pilots. Amelia Earhart was important to our nation because she proved a girl can do anything a boy can. I want to have a lot of confidence like Amelia Earhart when I grow up just like her.
Sacagawea
(2014) Sacagawea was best known as a guide and interpreter for Lewis and Clark. She lived between 1788 through 1812. She grew up near the Rocky Moutains. She lives in teepees. She was important to our nation because she helped guide and interpret Lewis and Clark on the exploration of the Louisiana Purchase and the lands to the West.
Neil Armstrong
(2016) Neil Armstrong was well known for being the first person to walk on the moon. His interest in flying started when he was a young boy. He played with model airplanes. Later, he got his student pilot license when he was sixteen. Neil Armstrong flew Navy planes during the Korean War and was a test pilot for rocket-powered airplanes. He became an astronaut in 1962. He flew on two missions, Gemini 8 in 1966 and Apollo 11 in 1969. Apollo 11 was the mission which he landed on the moon. On July 20, 1969 he stepped on the moon and became a hero to many people.
Nathan Hale
(2016) Nathan Hale was an American hero. He went to Yale like my grandfather. He joined the army and became a sPY. He was caught by the British and put to death. He was 21 years old. Be fore he died he Said "I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country." He died an American hero. The End

(2015) Thomas Jefferson was born on April 2, 1743 on a plantation and then died on July 4, 1826. In 1800 Thomas Jefferson was voted the third President. Thomas Jefferson was chosen to write the Declaration of Independence. President Jefferson bought land from the country of France and made the United States twice as big. Thomas Jefferson loved to grow vegetables. Thomas Jefferson thought that every one should take care of there land and grow healthy food. Thomas Jefferson was very important to our country.
Susan B. Anthony
(2016) Susan B. Anthony was born in 1820 in Massachusetts. When Susan was seventeen her and her sister became teachers earning $2.00 a week. Susan B. Anthony is one of the most important women to United States history because she wanted to end slavery and have everyone be treated the same way Susan wasn't alone in her fight for equal rights. She met Elizabeth Cady Stanton in 1851. Together they started the American Equal Rights Association Susan B. Anthony died on March 13th 1906. In 1920 Congress passed the 19th Amendment of the Constitution giving women the right to vote. It was called the Susan B. Anthony Amendment. In 1979 Susan B. Anthony's face was put on a coin called the Susan B. Anthony dollar. All of her heroic work helped women's rights.
Noah Webster
(2016) Noah Webster was born on October 16, 1758 in West Hartford CT. He went to college at Yale University and became a teacher. While Noah was teaching he noticed that American Schools needed better books for education. He began to write a dictionary. It took Noah 22 years to finish his American dictionary which had 65,000 words in it. This dictionary helped people who lived in different parts of the country to speak and sPell the same way.
John F. Kennedy
(2016) John F. Kennedy was a great president who loved his country. On May 29, 1917 John Fitzgerald Kennedy was born. He lived in Brookline, Massachusetts. John F. Kennedy was the 35th president in the USA. John F. Kennedy had an older brother named Joe Jr. They liked to wrestle together. John F. Kennedy loved to read when he was a young boy. He was the youngest president to die. John was Catholic. John's famous quote was "Ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country." He wanted to make this country a better place to live.
Ben Franklin
(2016) Benjamin Franklin was born in Boston, Massachusetts on January 17, 1706. Ben was one oF seventeen children. Benjamin began school at the age of eight. By the age of 10, he began to work at his Father's Soap and candle shoP. Behjamin wrote poetry for his older brother's newspaper, The New England courant Benjamn created the first hospital, the first lending library. He was a Postmaster. He invented Franklin Stove, wrote the Peace Treaty. Benjamin Frankin dead at 84 on April 17, 1790.
Prudence Crandall
(2014) My famous person is Prudence Crandall. She was born on September 3, 1803. Prudence taught a school for girls in Caterbury. The school was made for African American girls only. She is important to our nation because the state of Connecticut didn't want her to have the school but she fought for it. The Supreme Court ruled that she could keep the school on July 22, 1834. Prudence's school is still in Canterbury and is now a museum.
John Chapman
(2015) John Chapman, or Johnny Appleseed, planted apple trees so that people wouldn't be hungry. John was born on September 26, 1774. He was a gardener who planted apple trees. He was famous because he planted apple trees in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indianna, Illinois, and West Virginia. John died on March 18, 1845 at age 70. John Chapman, or Johnny Appleseed, was an important man that planted apple trees around the United States.
George Washington Carver
(2014) Here are some facts about George Washington Carver. George Washington Carver was a scientist and inventor. He showed farmers how to grow bigger and better crêpes. He had given the world 300 ways use peanuts and hundred 18 ways to you sweet potatoes. When George was little his family was so poor they couldn't buy a pencil. He used a quarter inch long pencil in a holder that he made. George died on January 5th 1943. George Washington Carver day is celebrated on January 5th.
Thomas Edison
(2015) Thomas Edison was an inventer. He was born on February 11, 1847. He invented the first working light bulb. Thomas oPened up the first motion Picture Studio. Thomas Edison won a gold medal for being a great inventor.
Georgia O'Keeffe
(2016) Do you know who Georgia O'Keeffe is? Well Georgia is a famous artist that was born on November 15th 1887 in Sun Prarie Wisconsin. She grew up on a farm and helped by cooking, sewing and growing vegtables. Georgia's mom had 7 kids Georgia was the 2nd of the 7 children. When Georgia was 5 she went to a 1 room school. She didn't like school but enjoyed the private art lessons after school. By then she knew she wanted to be an artist. Then Georgia and her family moved to Virginia and that's when she started high school. Everyone at school loved her paintings. About a year later, Georgia went to an art school and got frustrated because she wanted to express her feelings and ideas. Then she met a teacher who taught her to make sure that you express your feelings and ideas. After that Georgia went to Chicago to study at the art institute in 1905-1906. Georgia then got very sick. In 1916 a photographer named Alfred Steiglitz showed O'Keeffe's paintings without telling her. She got upset but eventually forgave him. Then Georgia and Alfred fell in love and got married. Alfred also helped make Georgia's work famous. O'Keeffe painted flowers up close and was famous for her poppy flowers. Georgia O'Keeffe was important because her art inspired other artists to make art in their own way. These were some facts about Georgia O'Keeffe.
Eleanor Roosevelt
(2014) These are some facts about Eleanor Roosevelt. Eleanor Roosevelt was born on October 14, 1884. She died on November 7, 1962. She was the most powerful woman in America. Eleanor helped women, African-Americans, and the poor. She help the poor by giving them some money because she was very rich. Eleanor worked for the Red Cross during World War I. Later she became a teacher. She married President Franklin Delano Roosevelt March 17, 1905. Eleanor had five children. The sixth died soon after his birth. Rosa Parks
(2016) Rosa parks was a cival rights activist. She was born Febuary, 4th 1913 in Tuskegee Alabama. on Devember 1st, 1955 Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on the bus to a white person. During this time black and white people had to sit in seperate parts of the bus. On that day Rosa worked a long day and didn't wan't to give up her seat. because she refused to leave the seat she was arrested. After being arrested she joined Martin Luther King in organizing the Montgomery Bus Boycott. Which lasted for 281 days. This boycott started a chain of events that led to laws ending segregation. Rosa Parks died on October 24th 2005 at the age of 92.
Paul Revere
(2016) Paul Revere was an Ameican patriot. He lived from January 2 1735 to May 10 1818. He was married 2 times and had 16 children! Paul Revere was important because he rode through Massachusetts yelling the British were coming! Paul Revere rose with William Dawes. But when Paul Revere was about half way through the ride, he was caught by a British patrol. His horse was taken and they let him go. Right about when he was caught, Samuel Prescot joined. Furthermore Paul Revere made the first bell in Boston as a silver smith. Thanks to Paul Revere, we were prepared for the British! He was truly an American patriot!
Beverly Cleary
(2016) Beverly Cleary is a nice woman who made reading fun. She is a very good book writer. Beverly Cleary in third grade picked a book that she liked. She tried to read the book, and she did. Then, she thought reading is not hard at all. Next, she went to a library and started to read lots and lots of books. Beverly Cleary was born in April 12, in 1916 in McMinnville, Oregon. In 1940, she got married to Mr. Cleary. They moved to California when World War Two began the next year. She got a job of a bookstore on Christmas. She wrote five or six books before she had her twins named Marianne Elisabeth and Malcolm James. Beverly wrote more books and she won many awards for her books. She wrote funny books and fun books for children.

Pablo and Geoges braque invented cubism a form of paniting that featured simple geometric shapes.
Jackie Joyner-Kersee
(2016) Jackie Joyner-Kersee was born on march 3 1962 in east st. louis Illinois. As a tenn, she won the national junior pentathlon championships four years in a row. Joyner-Kersee attended the universionships of califonia on a full scholarship for baskitball and continued to gain fame for the long jump and the first woman to earn more then 7,000 points in the long jump and also still holds the world record with scoring 7,201 points in the helptathlon.
